I, COMIC is a unique, paperback book created by Luisa Colón for incarcerated citizens and other justice-impacted individuals; it is 8.5. x 11, 121 pages produced on thick, durable quality paper suitable for drawing in different mediums. We are also a 501(c)(3)non-profit organization with the mission of fostering literacy, promoting art engagement, and helping build mastery in correctional facilities.

I COMIC is a proud partner of the incredible IGNITE® program, an Initiative of the National Sheriffs’ Association (NSA) started by Sheriff Christopher R. Swanson. IGNITE stands for Inmate Growth Naturally and Intentionally Through Education, and the program—implemented in numerous U.S. jails, and continuing to grow!—offers comprehensive education, job certification, and post-incarceration work opportunities and assistance to incarcerated individuals.
